Visually inspect the condition of the drive belts. Check their tension by applying thumb pressure midway between the pulleys.
- With the engine turned off, check the belt for cracks, fraying, excessive wear, or oil stains. Have belts in poor condition immediately replaced by your Toyota dealer.
- With your thumb, press hard on each belt midway between the pulleys. Each belt should deflect no more than the ammount specified
in Part 8. If a belt is loose, have it adjusted by your Toyota dealer.

When the engine is hot, be careful not to touch the radiator or engine. |
