Door Locks

The Power door locks can be locked or unlocked from inside by the lock switches on either of the front doors, by inserting the key in the lock cylinder, or by using the LOCK/UNLOCK button on the Remote Keyles Entry key fob, if so equipped.

As a safety feature the doors will not lock when using the poower lock switch in either of these conditions:

  1. The driver's door is popne while the key is in the ignition in the OFF position;
  2. The driver's door is open while the headlight switch is ON.


Central Locking (Optional)

Vehicles with security will have a feature called "Central Locking". When the key is placed in the door cylinder and turned to the "Unlock" position, the security will be disarmed, the illuminated entry will be turned on and that door will be mechanically unlocked. It the key is once again turned to the unlock posiution within 5 seconds of the first unlock, the remaining doors will unlock. If the key is turned to the "Lock" position while all doors are closed, illuminated entry will be canceled, security will begin arming, and all doors will lock.

Automatic Door Locks

If this feature is selected, your door locks will lock automatically if the speed is above 15 mph.

This option is shipped activated and can be turned on and off by using the following procedure:

  1. Close all of the doors.
  2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position for a total of four times, ending in the ON position, do not start the engine.
  3. Press the driver's side power door lock switch to lock the doors within 30 seconds.
  4. You will hear a single chime whem programming is completed.
  5. To activate the feature again, repeat the above steps.


Child Protection Door Lock

To provide a safer environment for small children riding in the rear seats, the rear doors are equipped with a child protection door lock system.


WARNING!
Avoid trapping anyone in the vehicle in a collision. Remember that the rear doors can only be opened from the outside when the child protection locks are engaged.
